Thanks for taking the time to share your reflection on my article. I'm glad you liked it over all. I'd like to refer you to my article about why we performed this process. We believe that it helps people understand what are the expectations from them, which is positive. If you find an alternative way to cultivate a culture of transparency about the expectations and feedback, that's perfect. But many times without *some* process, there's no transparency about expectations, and how people can advance, and no feedback. And then additional problem that you can have is biases towards under-represented groups working for you.
